Your license explained
PathWise is an annual subscription, sold through Stripe as merchant of record: a Solo license for one engineer, or a Team license granted to one organization and covering four user accounts. Current prices, including seat 3-packs past the first four, are on the pricing page. This page explains what that subscription gives you in plain language. The full terms on silo7.app are the binding text.
What you own
You get a non-exclusive, non-transferable license, for the term of your subscription, to install, run, and modify PathWise for internal use. A Solo license covers one engineer on one machine, and signs in one user. A Team license is granted to one company or organization and covers four user accounts, with more sold in 3-packs. The engine enforces that account count: past the limit, a new registration is refused. The subscription is self-hosted, and the license verifies offline. The major version you have, and every update released for it while your subscription is active, are yours to run.
PathWise diagnoses and never remediates. It gathers evidence and reasons about it, then hands you an answer to judge. It never runs, applies, or changes anything on your network or a device. That is what you are licensing: the ability to run this diagnosis engine on your own systems.
What you can change
You get the source. You may modify the engine and build derivative works for your own internal use. You can also extend PathWise by writing modules against the free Open Module Standard, see modules and writing a module. Modules you write are yours and are not restricted by this license.
What you may not do
- Sell, resell, rent, lease, sublicense, publish, or redistribute the engine, in whole or in part, whether modified or not.
- Offer the engine to third parties as a hosted or managed service.
- Use the engine, or a derivative of it, to build or offer a product or service that competes with PathWise for third parties. Internal modification for your own organization is fine, that is a different thing from offering it to others.
- Remove, alter, or obscure any license file, notice, watermark, or buyer identifier delivered with the engine.
Major versions and new modules
A future new major version, like a v2, and any module we publish after you subscribe, are part of the subscription. If your subscription lapses, your past reports stay readable and any running investigation finishes. After a 30-day grace, the engine stops taking new investigations until you renew. See Upgrades and your subscription for the full model.
No warranty
PathWise is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind. You are responsible for deciding whether it fits your environment, and for reviewing every diagnosis before you act on it. Liability, where it applies, is capped at the amount you paid.
Where the binding text lives
A full license file ships with your purchase. The complete terms are also posted at silo7.app. If this page and the license file or the posted terms ever disagree, the license file and the posted terms win, not this page.
Under the hood technical detail
The grant covers install, run, and modify rights inside one organization, plus the right to create derivative works for that organization's own internal use. The restrictions bar resale, redistribution in whole or part, hosting as a service, and building a competing product or service for third parties, alongside removing license identifiers or watermarks. The engine ships as-is with liability capped at amount paid. Major-version gating is enforced at delivery, not by a runtime check, since a runtime check in readable source code can be stripped by the buyer. The Open Module Standard and any modules you write sit outside this license entirely.
