Upgrades and your subscription
PathWise is an annual subscription. New modules and future major versions are part of it. Here is how upgrades work.
What the subscription covers
Your subscription, $399 a year for Solo or $1,299 a year for Team, covers the engine, every module you already have, new modules we release, new versions, and support for the year. It is self-hosted, and the license verifies offline.
What a major version is
A major version is a big jump, like a future v2. It is not the same as the routine updates that come with your subscription. A new major version arrives as part of an active subscription, same as any other update.
There is no v2 yet, and checkout for the subscription goes live with the Stripe storefront.
If your subscription lapses
Nothing dramatic happens. Any investigation already running finishes. Your past reports stay readable, forever. After a 30-day grace period, the engine stops taking new investigations. You keep the source you were shipped, and everything already in your copy keeps working. New modules and new versions stop arriving until you renew. Support stays the same for everyone regardless of tier, see Support and what is covered.
Why it works this way
Delivering a major-version upgrade or a new module is a delivery decision, not a check the software makes on your machine. Silo7 gates it by only handing over the new build to subscribers in good standing at release time. Your running copy never talks to a license server for day-to-day operation. The one thing your copy does enforce is license seats: a Solo license signs in one user, and a Team license covers four user accounts, refusing a registration past that. Buy more seats in 3-packs and install the new license file.
